Dr Ross Gillanders has over two decades’ worth of optical chemical sensor development for water quality, food packaging, and explosives. He has worked across academia and industry on applying sensor technologies in the real world, working closely with end-users to understand the environment.

Co-Founder & Chief Executive Officer
Dr Michael Riedlin has a background in industrial- and deep-tech with over 25 years of experience scaling global technology operations, optimizing complex supply chains, and driving high-margin commercial growth across Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. Holding a PhD in engineering alongside an MA in Intelligence and an Institute of Directors certificate, he blends technical expertise with corporate governance and cross-border commercial execution.

Scientific and Technical Advisor
Prof Graham Turnbull is scientific and technical advisor to Lightwater Sensors. He is Professor of Physics at the University of St Andrews and previous Head of the School of Physics and Astronomy.
