Iain is a time-served electrician to trade, who quickly moved into project engineering and management before creating IDS in 2002. He is known for his drive and a client focussed approach to delivery.

IDS have been a framework supplier for Scottish Water for 18 years. Over this time, they have built a strong and successful relationship based on trust and understanding. And Iain has shown his ability to lead by example and inspire his team towards making sensible decisions based on a company culture centred on respect, trust, and value. Scottish Water knows the standards Iain sets for himself, with IDS. This is evidenced by IDS being awarded Scottish Water’s Supplier of the Year 2 years in a row. This, and Iain’s tenacity, will only give confidence that he will deliver on this framework.

As Managing Director of IDS, Iain is used to making the tough calls and delegating work to the right people. His thinking is always geared not only to motivating his team, but also what is best for the client by putting himself in their shoes. Iain knows that, for Scottish Water, commercials are not the bottom line. He is able to think about what the solution has to be for Scottish communities, and he thoroughly understands the Scottish market. This in-depth understanding, Iain’s skills, and the trusted relationship he already has with Scottish Water will be invaluable to the Scottish Water framework. The scope of works for Lot 4 is within IDS’s skillset, and Iain will be responsible for successfully delivering the framework objectives with a core team that has been successfully delivering for many years.
